INDIA, Colonial. Danish India (Tranquebar). Dansk Asiatisk Kompagni (Danish Asiatic Company). AR Rupee (23mm, 11.45 g, 9h). In the name of the Mughal emperor, Ahmad Shah Bahadur. Arkat (Arcot) mint. Dated AH [116]7; RY 7 (26 April-2 June AD 1754). Couplet citing name and titles of Ahmad Shah Bahadur; last digit of AH date in upper central firld / Mint formula and RY date; D to left of RY date. Cf. Jensen, pp. 31-2; KM –; Baldwin’s 30, lot 1000 (this coin). EF, toned, shroff marks on obverse and reverse. Apparently unique.
