The Triumvirs. Octavian and Divus Julius Caesar. 38 BC. Æ Sestertius or Dupondius (32mm, 19.14 g, 11h). Southern Italian(?) mint. Bare head of Octavian right, wearing slight beard; CAESAR downward to right; DIVI • F downward to left / Wreathed head of Divus Julius Caesar right; DIVOS downward to right; IVLIVS downward to left. Crawford 535/1; cf. Alföldi & Giard 34 (for type); CRI 308; Sydenham 1335; RPC 620; Kestner 3826-8; BMCRR Gaul 106; RBW 1822. VF, natural dark green and brown patina, rough and broken in spots around portrait of Caesar.
