53, Lot: 110. Estimate $150.
Sold for $210. This amount does not include the buyer’s fee.

MARCUS AURELIUS, as Caesar. 139-161 AD. Æ As (8.78 gm). Struck 149/150 AD. Bare head right / Pietas standing left, right hand over small togate figure standing right. RIC III 1293a (Pius); BMC 1858 (Pius); Cohen 445. VF, dark brown surfaces, smoothed. ($150)

We would compare the small curly haired togate figure on this coin with the small figures of Trajan and Gordian III shown standing beneath Jupiter on their respective issues, and identify it as Marcus Aurelius. In RIC and BMCRE, however, it is called a "child."
