THESSALY, Larissa. Circa 405/0-370 BC. AR Drachm (17mm, 5.94 g, 9h). Early facing head type. Dies signed by the artist Ai-. Head of the nymph Larissa facing slightly left, with hair in ampyx; [ΓEY on ampyx, tiny AI above] / Horse standing right, preparing to lie down, [boukranion on rump]; tiny AI below belly. L-S Group 3, Head Type 14, dies O34/R7, a (this coin); BCD Thessaly II 208 (same obv. die). VF, toned, die breaks, a little rough, a couple scuffs on reverse. The only example known from this reverse die.
