INDIA, Kushan Empire. Kanishka I. Circa AD 127/8-152. Æ Tetradrachm (24mm, 16.37 g, 12h). Mint II (B). 2nd emission. Kanishka standing facing, head left, sacrificing over altar / MIIPO, Miiro (Mithra) standing facing, head left, extending right hand, left hand on hilt of sword and holding whip; tamgha to left. MK 796 (same obv. die). VF, earthen brown patina, cleaning marks.

The reverse of the one specimen known to Göbl for his no. 796 is in a poor state of preservation. It is unclear if that example also features the rather awkwardly positioned whip.
