EGYPT, Alexandria. Diocletian. AD 284-305. Potin Tetradrachm (19mm, 7.57 g, 12h). Dated RY 12 (AD 295/6). Laureate and cuirassed bust right / Helmeted and cuirassed bust left of Ares(?), holding shield and spear; L IB (date) before. Unpublished in the standard references. Good VF, brown patina, green deposits, some roughness. Rare.
It is also possible that the reverse type depicts Diocletian and not Ares. The type is known for Maximianus.
