KINGS of MACEDON. Perseus. 179-168 BC. AR Tetradrachm (31mm, 15.38 g, 12h). Reduced standard. Pella or Amphipolis mint; Au-, mintmaster. Struck circa 171-168 BC. Diademed head right / BAΣI-ΛEΩΣ ΠEP-ΣEΩΣ, eagle, wings spread, standing right on thunderbolt; NK monogram above, AY (mintmaster’s) monogram to right, ΛΩ monogram between legs; all within oak wreath; below, plow right. Mamroth, Perseus 20b; SNG Ashmolean 3277 (same obv. die); Gulbenkian 889 (same obv. die). Near EF, attractively toned, light scratch in field on obverse.
