ISLANDS off THESSALY, Ikos. 4th century BC. Æ Chalkous (15mm, 3.48 g, 12h). Wreathed head of Poseidon right / IK–IΩ–И, trident, dolphin swimming downwards to either side. Rogers 558; BCD Thessaly II 794 var. (N instead of И; same obv. die); BCD Thessaly I 1362 (same obv. die); HGC 6, 397. Near VF, dark brown patina, roughness. Extremely rare.

A note from BCD from the Nomos sale: An island bronze whose rarity and desirability cannot be overestimated. The heraldic reverse type and indeed its entire design appear to be quite similar to the famous bronze of Helike (see BCD Peloponnesos 497),
