THESSALY, Pharkadon. Circa 440-400 BC. AR Hemidrachm (16mm, 2.77 g, 9h). The hero Thessalos, nude but for petasos and chlamys, holding band around the head of a forepart of bull charging right / Φ–A–P–KA–ΔO, forepart of horse right; all within shallow incuse square. BCD Thessaly II 603 var. (differently dispersed rev. letters); BCD Thessaly I 1267 var. (longer ethnic); SNG Copenhagen 209 var. (differently dispersed rev. letters). VF, toned, porous surfaces. Well centered on a full flan.
