Horse grazing left; above, partridge-like bird to right, but upside down / ΛARI–SAIO–N (S retrograde), sandal of Jason to left; above, labrys to right. Cf. BCD Thessaly II 130/129 (for obv./rev. types); BCD Thessaly I 1095 var. (cicada in place of bird, S not retrograde); SNG Copenhagen –; SNG Delepierre 1101 var. (as last); BMC 1 var. (as last); Jameson 2467 var. (as last) and 1084 var. (positioning of horse’s hind legs, different ethnic, no labrys); de Luynes 1830 var. (different ethnic, no labrys); Traité I 1410 var. (as last) and 1411 var. (as BCD Thessaly I). VF, slightly granular surfaces, edge split. Rare early drachm. Possibly an unrecorded combination of bird and labrys symbols.
