THESSALY, Dia. Mid 4th century BC. Æ Chalkous (15mm, 1.98 g, 12h). Head of Zeus right, wearing tainia; [thunderbolt] behind / ΔIA–ΩИ (retrograde from top left), Hera seated left, her feet on footstool, holding phiale and scepter; Δ below throne. Demetriadi 1 (O1/R1 – as Dion in Macedonia); Rogers –; BCD Thessaly II 64 (same dies; hammer of $2500). Near VF, green patina. Very rare, particularly in the market, with nearly all the known specimens in museum collections.
