SYRIA, Seleukid Kings. Antiochos II. 261-246 BC. AR Tetradrachm (17.08 gm). Bargylia mint? Struck 261-253 BC. Diademed head right / Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and bow; statue of Artemis Kindyas left, monogram in exergue. Houghton & Lorber 549 (same obverse die); SNG Spaer -; Newell, WSM 1468 (Antiochos III, same obverse die); Houghton -. Lightly toned, nice VF. Extremely rare, only two specimens recorded by Houghton, both in museum collections (1 in Berlin, the other in London). ($1000)
