Otho. AD 69. Fourrée Denarius (16mm, 2.61 g, 6h). Contemporary imitation struck after AD 72-73. Bare head right / Simpulum, sprinkler, jug, and lituus. Cf. RIC II 356 (Vespasian); cf. RSC 45 (Vespasian). Fine, plating exposed on obverse, soft green deposits on reverse seemingly from corrosion of the core. An unusual ancient forgery muling types of Otho and Vespasian.
