PERSIA, Achaemenid Empire. temp. Artaxerxes II to Darios III. Circa 375-336 BC. AR Siglos (13mm, 5.53 g). Persian king or hero in kneeling-running stance right, holding dagger and bow; vertical kerykeion behind / Rectangular incuse punch. Cf. Carradice Type IV Late (pl. XV, 52); cf. BMC Arabia pl. XXVII, 17 (both without kerykeion). Near VF, toned, bankers’ marks (facing head on obv., uncertain on rev.). Rare with kerykeion.
