SAMARIA, Sebaste. Commodus. 177-192 AD. Æ 26mm (12.88 gm). Year 215 (190/1 AD). Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right / Kore standing facing, head right, holding long torch and grain-ears; to left, cista mystica. Rosenberger 13 var. (no L in date); SNG ANS 1075 var. (no L in date and legend variety). Good VF, green patina with sandy highlights. ($500)

The actual statue of Kore depicted on this coin was found in the excavations of Sebaste and exhibited in the Rockefeller Museum in Jerusalem.
