Head of Athena right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet with griffin on the bowl; [monogram behind] / [Θ]EΣ/[Σ]AΛΩN, bridled horse trotting right; monogram of ΠΟΛΥ (or ΠΟΛI) below. Not found in the consulted references. Near VF, lightly toned, surfaces pitted; extremely rare.

A BCD comment: This is a fraction of extreme rarity, never published or offered for sale. It must have been part of the initial denominational scheme of the Late Hellenistic Confederacy, before the mint settled down to striking just Apollo drachms and Zeus staters and, soon after, staters only.
