Youthful male head l., bound with tainia / ΣKI l. down, AʘI r. down inwards and retrograde, kerykeion with spiked end for standing on the ground, all in incuse circle. (807.3) ISLANDS off THESSALY, Skiathos. 3rd century BC. Æ Chalkous (14.5mm, 1.81 g, 12h). Youthful laureate male head r. / [ΣKI] r. down, [A]ʘI l. up, kerykeion, to l., grapes; all in circular concave field. The exact type not found in consulted references. The obverse head here appears to be laureate but the 3rd century die cutters were not overly concerned with such details; laureate or diademed was probably the same to them.
