(563.1) THESSALY, Perrhaiboi. Late 2nd to early 1st century BC. Æ Trichalkon (19.5mm, 7.67 g, 12h). Bearded head of Zeus r., wreathed with oak leaves / ΠEPPAI l. up, BΩN r. down, Hera, diademed, and draped, seated r. on backless throne, holding long sceptre with her r. and resting her l. on her knee, in field r., ΣΩ downwards. See Gorny & Mosch 196 (& March 2011) 1462. Near VF, dark green patina with some dark red areas, mostly on the obverse.


(563.2) THESSALY, Perrhaiboi. Late 2nd to early 1st century BC. Æ Trichalkon (18.5mm, 6.94 g, 12h). Bearded head of Zeus r., wreathed with oak leaves / ΠEPPAI l. up, BΩN r. down, Hera, diademed, veiled and draped, seated r. on backless throne, holding long sceptre with her r. and resting her l. on her knee, in field r., ΣΩTI downwards. This variety not in references consulted. Near VF, dark green patina with some dark red areas.

On this reverse die the two last letters of the first part of the inscription were displaced so that they wouldn’t interfere with Hera’s arm.
