THESSALY, Perrhaiboi. Late 5th century BC. AR Trihemiobol (14mm, 0.79 g, 3h). Thessalian cavalryman, wearing chlamys and petasos and holding two spears, riding horse walking r., below horse, altar; border of dots / [Π]-E-P-A from top r., to l., retrograde and circular, Athena in chiton and himation and with her hair rolled in a bun behind her head, seated l. on chair with curving legs and back, her feet crossed, holding crested helmet with lowered cheekpieces. Not found in references consulted, probably unpublished. Good Fine, toned, extremely rare variety with the obverse type right.

The style of this coin suggests an early, short lived issue, preceding the usual trihemiobols with the obverse type to left.
