BRUTTIUM, Lokroi Epizephyrioi. Circa 275-270 BC. AR Nomos (7.24 gm). LOKRWN, laureate head of Zeus left; NE monogram below / [PWMA] left, [PISTIS] right, [LOKRWN] in exergue, Roma seated right being crowned by Pistis. SNG ANS 531; SNG Lloyd 645. Toned, good VF, well struck, flan just a touch short. ($2000)

This rare and interesting coin makes an obvious reference to the Roman subjugation of Lokroi and was probably struck shortly after the battle of Beneventum that was so disastrous to Pyrrhos and his allies.
