Attwood 209. Kress 416 = NG 474 . Rare in this condition, an attractive, struck example with a tan patina and unusually nice. Extremely fine.

Pietro Lando, Doge LXXVIII, culminated a distinguished career by presiding over the treaty that delivered all of Venice’s remaining possessions in the Morea (= the Peloponessos) to the Ottomans. Much would be recaptured in the late 17th century but would be lost again early in the 18th.
