1873 Dime (Closed 3, No Arrows). Proof 66* (NGC). An exceptional piece with brilliant eye appeal, as indicative of its star designation. The flawlessly frosted devices on the obverse are set apart by a rich golden-orange hue, with only a slight break in the tone near the upper right edge. The reverse has acquired a deep cabernet sheen, almost sparkling in radiance. A must for the collector of choice Dimes or the Liberty Seated series. NGC Population (with the ‘star’ designation): 1, with none finer (as of 12/10).
