Dated RY 24 of the Guāngxù Emperor (1898). “zào shěng huī ān nián sì shí èr (pierced cross) kù píng qī qián èr fēn (pierced cross),” (Made in Ānhuī province in year 4 and 20/Treasury scales equal to 7 qián and 2 fēn) in Hànzì, “bǎo yuán guāng xù,” (Valuable yuán of Guāngxù) in Hànzì around similar legend in Manchu script; A.-S./T.-C. across fields / AN – HWEI PROVINCE/(rosette) 7 MACE AND 2 CANDAREENS (rosette), flying imperial dragon facing, coiled leftward around fireball and surrounded by stylized clouds.
