THRACE, Abdera. Trajan. AD 98-117. Æ (21mm, 5.09 g, 6h). Laureate head of Trajan right / Laureate head of an aged male right. Chryssanthaki-Nagle 901 (D1/R1); AMNG II 249. Near VF, dark green patina. Extremely rare.

Both Chryssanthaki-Nagle and AMNG refer to the figure on the reverse as an aged male. Considering that Trajan honored his father by placing his portrait on coins, it seems likely that the representation here is Trajan Pater.
