KINGS of MACEDON. Philip II. 359-336 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 14.27 g, 11h). Pella mint. Struck under Antipater, Polyperchon, or Kassander (for Philip III and Alexander IV), circa 323-315 BC. Laureate head of Zeus right / Youth on horseback right, holding palm branch; below, coiled serpent right; Boeotian shield below horse’s foreleg. Le Rider 523 (S278/R432); cf. SNG ANS 449-50 (serpent coiled upright). Near EF, light toning around devices, test cut on reverse. Nice metal and good style.
