Ex Conte Collection; Peter Woodhead Collection.

Coins struck at Rhuddlan have the same designs as regular short cross issues, but the production of the mint was irregular and the dies are presumed to have been locally made. Although Brand presents a die study and style classification, he does not speculate as to why the coins were struck in such a remote location.
