SICILY, Syracuse . Circa 336-317 BC. Æ Tetras (3.67 gm). A-SK-L-H-PI, bearded and laureate head of Asklepios left / SURAKOSIWN in exergue, barking dog standing left, right forepaw raised; monogram above. SNG ANS -; Calciati II pg. 193, 84 (this coin); SNG Copenhagen -; SNG Morcom 721; Favorito 52; Laffaille -; Virzi 1566. Near EF, dark green, almost black, patina, some light roughness. Exceptional, and the only known piece with a fully legible obverse legend. ($1000)

All of the standard references refer to the obverse of this coin as Zeus, but the reading of the legend on this specimen clearly identifies the head as that of Asklepios.
