SICILY, Petra . Circa 340 BC. Æ Drachm (32.42 gm). PETRINWN (barely visible), bearded head of Zeus Eleutherios right / Aphrodite seated right, playing with dove held in her right hand. SNG ANS 614; Calciati III pg. 317, 1; BMC Sicily -; SNG Copenhagen -; SNG Morcom 658; Laffaille -; Virzi 967 (Eryx). Fine, black patina with a few spots of green encrustation. Overstruck on a Syracusan drachm, Athena/Two dolphins, star (Calciati II pg. 111, 62), with the outline of the dolphins visible on the obverse, and the bowl of Athena's helmet visible on the reverse.
