LUCANIA, Metapontion. Circa 400-340 BC. AR Nomos (7.41 g, 7h). Head of Demeter left, hair in sphendone; [APIΣTO on truncation of neck] / Barley ear of six grains with leaf to left. Noe 433 (same dies); HN Italy 1521; Jameson 277 (same dies). Near VF, lightly toned, graffito (“H”) and a pair light scratches in field on obverse. Noe records 15 examples.
