INDIA, Kushan Empire. Vasishka. Circa AD 240-250. AV Dinar (7.92 g, 12h). Mint IV (D). 3rd emission. Vasishka standing facing, head left, flames on shoulder, sacrificing over altar and holding filleted scepter; to left, filleted trident; “tha” in Brahmi between legs; “va” in Brahmi between body and scepter; to right, “su” above “na” in Brahmi / OhÞO, ithyphallic Siva with three heads standing facing, holding trident and diadem; behind, the bull Nandi standing left; tamgha to upper left. MK 627 (O29/R- [unlisted rev. die]); Donum Burns 703. EF. An unusual specimen in that Siva’s prominent phallus remains visible.
