CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 430-425 BC. AR Nomos (7.61 g, 11h). Phalanthos riding dolphin right; cockle shell below / Nude horseman riding right, symbol (coiled serpent?) on horse’s rump. Fischer-Bossert group 16, 209a (V103/R150; this coin); Vlasto 265-6; HN Italy 847. Good VF, toned, minor area of flat strike, some underlying luster. Extremely rare die pairing from a rare issue.
