GERMANY. Württemberg. Charlotte Medal. Cruciform medal with the royal emblem of Charlotte of Württemberg. On the reverse, ‘1916’. Yellow ribbon with black bands. In original burgundy presentation box with a label on the inside decorated with Württemberg’s coat-of-arms and reading ‘K. Münzamt/ Abt. Orden/ Stuttgart•’. Good VF condition, clasp on ribbon broken and replaced with a safety pin, some minor damage to the presentation box.

In 1916, Charlotte, the second wife of King Wilhelm II of Württemberg, instituted the awarding of this medal, which was given for providing war aid.
