CILICIA, Tarsus. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ 35mm (24.38 g, 12h). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, holding spear and shield decorated with gorgoneion / Sandan standing on horned animal right, bow and quiver over shoulder, holding flower and wreath; all within distyle temple with arched roof. SNG Levante 1140 (this coin); SNG France 1708 (same dies). VF, greenish-brown patina, minor roughness and some light deposits.
