THRACO-MACEDONIAN TRIBES, Uncertain. Circa 480-460 BC. AR Obol (10mm, 0.82 g). Male goat kneeling right on groundline; pellets around / Quadripartite incuse square. Cf. SNG Copenhagen 25 (Aigai; no pellets visible in illustration); cf. SNG ANS 66 (same); Sheedy Non-Parian group 3; HPM pl. III, 22 var. (no pellets). VF, toned, light porosity.

As the goat on this issue is male, the arguments against attributing the goat issues to Aigai of Svoronos, Picard, and Lorber apply to this issue as well. However, as the goat is not looking backward, it does not fit into the group now attributed to the Krestones/Migdones. As these coins typically show up in hoards of Macedonian coinage (see, e.g., Sheedy p. 112), they likely belong to an uncertain tribe in the region.
