[IAC • II • DEI • GRA • MAG • B]RI [• FRA • ET • HIB • REX], James, armored, on horseback left, holding sword in right hand and rein in left / [CHRIS]TO • VICT[ORE • TRIVMPHO], cruciform crowned coats-of-arms of England, Scotland, France, and Ireland; crown in center, ANO DOM 16 90 in quarters. Cf. SCBI 22 (Copenhagen), 432-3 (not overstruck); SCBC 6577. VF, attractive brown surfaces. Overstruck on Gunmoney Halfcrown (SCBC 6579), with almost full legends visible, and back of James’ head. Choice for issue.
