IONIA, Smyrna. Circa 155-145 BC. AR Tetradrachm (16.59 g, 12h). Stephanophoric type. Metrodoros(?), magistrate. Turreted head of Tyche right / zÂUr/nA5Wn in two lines above magistrate’s monogram; all within laurel wreath. Milne, Autonomous 165a corr. (monogram); Milne, Silver, 5a corr., obv. die E; SNG von Aulock -; SNG Copenhagen -; BMC -; SNG Fitzwilliam 4575 (same dies); SNG Lockett 2849; Pozzi 2512; Boston MFA 1933 = Warren 1129. Good VF, toned, slight doubling in field on obverse.

In both of his studies on this coinage, Milne incorrectly records this monogram as having a rho on its right side, even though all of the coins he refers to clearly show this is not correct.
