Caracalla. AD 198-217. AV Aureus (7.36 g, 7h). Rome mint. Struck AD 213. Laureate and cuirassed bust right / Libertas standing left, holding pileus and scepter. RIC IV 209b note corr.; Calicó 2027 corr.; BMCRE 57 note. Good VF, a few marks.

This coin reveals a number of errors in the catalogs. Calicó does not note RIC 209b note, which references the same Montagu sale coin that is referenced in BMCRE (which is cited in Calicó). Also, both RIC 209b (aureus) and 210b are erroneously identical listings. The former references Cohen 226, the denarius denomination of the aureus of Cohen 225. As such, the reference to Cohen 225 should be moved to RIC 209b, and the listing of RIC 210b should be removed from the catalog.
