ELIS, Olympia. 95th Olympiad. 400 BC. AR Drachm (6.12 g, 10h). Head of eagle right; lizard to right, uncertain c/m at right edge / Thunderbolt with volutes above, upon which are olive leaves, and flames below. Seltman, Temple pl. VIII, 22 = BMC 43 (same dies); BCD Olympia 83 = Kunstfreund 154 (same dies); SNG Copenhagen -; C. Seltman, “The Katoché Hoard of Elean Coins” in NC 1951, X (this coin). Good VF, toned. Extremely rare, one of five known.
