SICILY, Syracuse. Dionysios I. 405-367 BC. Æ Tetras (2.44 g, 5h). Struck circa 400 BC. Head of Arethusa left, hair in sphendone / Octopus. Boehringer, Münzprägungen pl. III, 23; CNS 14 corr.; Favorito type 6 (c. 425-420 BC); SNG ANS 389-91. VF, light green patina, a little rough on reverse.


The description for this type in CNS notes a small E is present on the obverse, but as this example (as well as some plated in CNS) show, this was not always true.
