SICILY, Syracuse. Dionysios I. 405-367 BC. Æ Hemilitron (3.70 g, 5h). Obverse die signed by the artist Phry(gillos). Struck circa 405-400 BC. Head of Arethusa left, hair in sphendone signed ΦPY on the back (barely visible); dolphin downward behind / Wheel of four spokes; dolphins in lower quarters. Cf. Boehringer, Münzprägungen pl. III, 25; CNS 19 fr 4; Favorito type 75 (c. 425-420 BC); SNG ANS 412-3. Good VF, dark brown patina, lightly smoothed. Rare.
