MOHETA ПOЛTИHA • 1822 ÉéãÄ, crowned double-headed imperial eagle facing with wings displayed, holding filleted thunderbolt and wreath; coat-of-arms of Moskva on breast; above, imperial crown; н.г. flanking tail / ЧИCTAГO/CEPEБPA/2 ЗOЛOTH=/10½ ДOЛEЙ/——/C.П.Б. in six lines across field; imperial crown above; all within laurel and oak wreath. On edge: • CEP • 83 1/3 ПPOБЫ 2 ЗOЛ • 41 7/25 ДOЛ. Bitkin 119; Severin 2930; Uzdenikov 1526. NGC photo graded MS 64, so choice with a hint of patina. A very choice uncirculated example of the “wings down” type poltina of Aleksandr I. Very rare.
