Augustus. 27 BC-AD 14. AR Fourrée Denarius (2.87 g, 6h). Rome mint. P. Petronius Turpilianus, moneyer. Struck 19/8 BC. CAESAR AVGVSTVS, bare head right / P PETR[ON T]VRPILIAN III • VIR •, young satyr seated right on ground, resting his chin on his left hand; two flutes set on ground between his crossed legs. RIC I 295; RSC 492; BMCRE p. 6, note 29; BN 167. Good VF, lightly toned, minor flan flaws and an area of flat strike on reverse, shallow scratch on edge. Very rare.
