CRETE, Phaistos. Circa 330-320 BC. AR Stater (11.70 g, 12h). FAISTIOS (retrograde), Herakles standing facing, holding club and bow, preparing to strike serpent to right / Bull standing right within wreath of olive leaves. Svoronos, Numismatique 46; cf. SNG Copenhagen 517 (same obv. die, different rev. type); BMC -; Mionnet II 251 (same dies). VF, toned, slightly irregular flan. Excellent metal. Very rare.
