During his struggle with his brother, Antiochos VIII, Kyzikenos controlled Antioch from 113-112 BC, 110/9-108/7 BC, and 96-95 BC. No drachms are known from his first reign there. In his second reign, from which the present coin was issued, Kyzikenos reintroduced the Nike reverse type that was used at Antioch by his father, Antiochos VII.
