CARIA, Aphrodisias. Gordian III. AD 238-244. Æ Triassarion (32.5mm, 14.82 g, 6h). Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind / Cult statue of Aphrodite of Aphrodisias right, between priestess seated right and fountain; on either side, Eros on cippus holding torch facing inwards. MacDonald, Coinage, Type 180 (O229/R418); RPC VII.1 618.5 (this coin); BMC 16. Red-brown patina, slightly rough, lightly double struck, areas of weak strike, scratches on reverse. Near VF. Very rare.
