Crowned facing bust of Theophilus, wearing chlamys, holding patriarchal cross and akakia; star at beginning of legend, Θ at end / Crowned facing busts of Michael and Constantine, each wearing chlamys; cross above, pellet between. Much of the die engraver’s centering circle is visible and intact on both the obverse and reverse of this well struck coin from a very early die state. |
