ATTICA, Athens. Circa 454-404 BC. AR Tetradrachm (22mm, 15.56 g, 1h). Contemporary imitation. Helmeted head of Athena right, with frontal eye / Owl standing right, head facing, closed tail feathers; olive sprig and crescent to left; all within incuse square. For prototype: cf. Kroll 8; cf. HGC 4, 1597. Slight roughness and porosity, underweight specimen (not fourrée), flan flaw on obverse. VF. |
