Diademed and draped bust right / Nike advancing right, holding palm and wreath, within laurel wreath. Svoronos 1888; RPC I 4772; SNG München –; Sofaer 44; DCA 477. Red-brown patina, minor green deposits. VF.

All of Cleopatra’s coinage from Chalcis is dated by her Egyptian and Phoenician regnal years (corresponding to 32/1 BC). While the larger denominations featured the portrait of Antony, smaller denominations, such as this, were issued with Cleopatra’s portrait alone.
