ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceattas. Circa 745-750. AR Sceatt (12mm, 0.87 g). Series Q/R mule. Mint in East Anglia. Bust right with long hair; cross pommée to right / ‘Standard’ with central annulet, four chevrons at corners; lines at corners and sides. EMC 2012.0001 (this coin); SCBI 69 (Abramson), 700-1; Abramson 12-30; MEC 8 Series RQ; North –; SCBC 812. Some luster. Good VF. Extremely rare, this finer than both Abramson examples.
