1851-C Gold Dollar. Variety 3 NGC AU Details - Cleaned. In NGC encapsulation 4723743-001, graded AU DETAILS, CLEANED. Variety 3 shows the date sitting higher than the more frequently seen variety, and the mintmark is narrowly recut along the outer curve. The diagnostic die crack from the edge to the second S of STATES is present. One of 41,267 such coins struck by the Charlotte mint, each side of this coin showcases attractive reddish tone.
